About Sophie

Sophie Chisholm is a painter who graduated with a BAHons in Fine Art from Winchester School of Art. She was brought up in the beautiful Kentish Countryside and attended Canterbury Steiner School.

Sophie’s artwork is deeply influenced by her travels in Africa, North, South and Central America and her life living the the English countryside.

Sophie's adventures and experiences around the world have fuelled her painting inspiration. Sophie and her fiancé recently lived and worked at a Waldorf School for Orphaned children in Zanzibar for a year between 2018-2019.  Sophie keeps journals of her travels, these become the foundation of her inspiration. The aim of her art is to capture the colours, experiences and sensations which she has experienced and gather these into her journals. Sophie’s joy in using bold colours is relevant in her art work. 

Sophie is now a qualified Steiner Teacher who is currently a Class Teacher at a Steiner School in Sussex. Sophie still makes time for her paintings and is always planning her next adventure.
